As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, SteelEye is committed to building and delivering the best in breed business continuity and recovery software solutions to the Windows market place.
SteelEye Protection Suite for WindowsSteelEye's award winning SteelEye Protection Suite for Windows is SteelEye's flagship solution which addresses all business continuity recovery needs, including data protection, disaster recovery and high availability for Windows servers. The SteelEye Protection Suite is comprised of two main components: SteelEye Data Replication and LifeKeeper High Availability Clustering software.
LifeKeeper High Availability Clustering
LifeKeeper High Availability Clustering was the first commercially available clustering solution for the Windows NT platform, even predating Wolfpack, the predecessor to Microsoft Cluster Services (MSCS). LifeKeeper continues to build on its strong tradition of Windows data recovery software by supporting the latest platforms, including Windows 2003 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
SteelEye Data Replication
SteelEye Data Replication is a host-based block level volume replicator that provides real-time data replication of all data, regardless of the application. SteelEye Data Replication is an integral part of the SteelEye Protection Suite, and is a true CDP product as defined by The Storage Networking Industry Association...
"The SNIA DMF CDP SIG defines CDP as follows:
Continuous data protection (CDP) is a methodology that continuously captures or tracks data modifications and stores changes independent of the primary data, enabling recovery points from any point in the past. CDP systems may be block-, file- or application-based and can provide fine granularities of restorable objects to infinitely variable recovery points."
Disaster Recovery
Disaster Recovery solutions from SteelEye Technology are obtained when the SteelEye Protection Suite for Windows is used to protect applications and data across separate sites. By combining SteelEye Data Replication's ability to efficiently replicate data across a WAN with the automated application recovery capabilities of LifeKeeper High Availability; even the most stringent Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) can be met.
SteelEye Linux Data Protection Solutions
As more and more organizations adopt the Linux operating system for all of the right reasons; openness, flexibility, manageability, power, and economics, it becomes vital that Linux data protection and high availability solutions be researched and deployed. SteelEye Technology is the leader in Continuous Data Protection and High Availability Clustering solutions for Linux.
SteelEye Data Replication
Do you have critical data on a Linux server? Would you like to test your backup and recovery plan in case of a disaster? Does the idea of having a real time copy of the critical data on another server in different data center sound appealing? SteelEye data replication may be the solution that you have been looking for.
LifeKeeper for Linux
LifeKeeper for Linux is a modern, flexible alternative to classic high availability clustering products. It is a resource driven clustering system that is not tied to a single storage model, unlike many solutions in this field. With a huge collection of Application Recovery Kits available, LifeKeeper for Linux can get your high availability cluster up and running in a matter of hours, not a matter of weeks.
Disaster Recovery
When used together, SteelEye Data Replication for Linux and LifeKeeper for Linux can used to create a complete disaster recovery solution for your critical Linux servers.
SteelEye Technology Virtual Server Protection
SteelEye Technology delivers high availability and disaster recovery for virtual server environments.Virtual machine technologies including Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware ESX Server are being increasingly deployed to help businesses improve IT efficiency while driving down computing costs. As IT infrastructures evolve to include virtualization in order to help address scalability and manageability needs, it is critical that virtual server protection strategies evolve as well. SteelEye provides proven, reliable and cost effective data replication and high availability capabilities that work just as well in virtual server environments as they do on physical servers.
The SteelEye family of data replication, application monitoring and disaster recovery solutions provides
- Depending on the platform, complete high availability for applications and data with fast and automatic failure detection and recovery of both physical and virtual servers
- Comprehensive monitoring and recovery for individual applications and services within the VMs
- Tremendous flexibility in building failover configurations from a mixture of physical and virtual machines using either shared storage or data replication.
SteelEye's virtual server protection solution operates in virtual machines the same as on standalone physical systems to provide management of individual applications, database and critical services residing within the virtual machine. LifeKeeper supports physical-to-virtual, virtual-to-virtual and virtual-to-physical types of failover configurations with a nearly limitless range of more complex configurations possible from these simple building blocks.
- SteelEye protects applications and data within either the host OS or Linux and Windows guest OS.
- SteelEye provides continuous data protection of virtual machines across either LAN or WAN connections to ensure disaster recovery.
- SteelEye supports clusters built with any combination of physical and virtual servers.
Chris Wolf of analyst firm, Burton Group:
From a reliability standpoint, running applications on a VM may be even more secure than running them on a dedicated physical machine. Applications that do not natively support clustering can fail over to another server as part of a virtual machine via VMware HA, and adding replication software such as that offered by SteelEyeTechnology Inc. makes the process even easier, since it can trigger failover based on application failures.
SteelEye Protection Suite for Exchange Disaster Recovery
The SteelEye Protection Suite for Exchange provides a comprehensive set of tools to address all areas of Exchange business continuity, including Exchange data protection, disaster recovery and high availability.
- Real-time CDP protects Exchange data and provides the highest RPO
